Description:
A worm is a malicious self replicating application programmed to infect local and network machines to drop dangerous payloads. Worms are generally spread through exploiting security vulnerabilities on the compromised machine without victims consent. A worm virus may degrade computer security, monitor general system actions, carry out harmful activities and steal login names, passwords, email addresses and other confidential information. Common worms spreads through file sharing networks, spam e-mail, chat and messenger programs or via removable drivers.
